Leadership and culture

I teach about leadership. I view teaching as guiding others into growing their own leadership abilities whether or not they plan to move into a leadership position.  We can use leadership skills in many ways. To me, the most important aspect of leadership concerns creating and fostering culture. Every action creates culture...or destroys it, and all employees have a stake in an organization's culture. Leadership, however, sets the tone, crafts and enforces policies and models the culture. Supportive cultures create a positive workplace environment which all stakeholders notice...and can then choose whether or not to associate with that organization...or buy that business's products...or enroll in that college's programs I enjoy observing (my own form of qualitative research) and talking informally to employees bout their workplaces, allowing me to lern abt building (nd destroyng culture) to then shre with students.
